Dr. Tamara Smith joined Radiology Associates of Hollywood, Inc. in August 2021. She completed her medical degree and internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida (UF) and her residency in Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year.
Dr. Smith graduated from UF with Honors in Research and has multiple publications and abstracts. She also served on numerous institutional and professional society committees, including the Resident Advisory Committee at The Ohio State University and the Radiological Society of North America Resident Representative.
Dr. Smith has extensive training in advanced radiation techniques, such as intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), image-guided brachytherapy, endoluminal brachytherapy, Y-90 radioembolization, intraoperative high-dose rate radiotherapy and intraoperative electron beam radiotherapy. She is experienced with modern breast cancer radiation techniques, including accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI), deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH), and treatment in both prone and supine positions. Dr. Smith utilizes evidence-based medicine to create individualized treatment plans for each patient.
When not practicing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, biking, exercising, and snowboarding.
